Download the XLIFF language file

Whatfix provides a customized XML Localization Interchange File Format (XLIFF) file containing all the details of the content, referred to as the XLIFF language file. Download an XLIFF language file for all the content on the Dashboard or for selected content.
A new XLIFF format is available offering full compliance with XLIFF standards and compatibility with almost all modern translation tools.
- The old XLIFF format is planned to be deprecated by June 25th, 2025. Whatfix recommends you to switch to the new XLIFF format.

Use the following steps to download the XLIFF language file for all content:
- If you are a Translator, start from Step 3.
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
Click Translations.
Click the Download icon next to the language to which you want to translate your content.
In the pop-up, select the New .xliff file format.
Click Download.
The language files are downloaded as a zipped folder. Unzip the folder to access the XLIFF language files.
Use the following steps to download the XLIFF language file for selected content:
On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.
Click All content.
Select the content that you want to download the language files of.
Click Download language files.
From the Translate in dropdown, select the language you want to translate your content to.
Select the New .xliff file format.
Click Download.
The language files will be downloaded as a zipped folder. Unzip the folder to access the XLIFF language files.
