# Configure Task List

Task Lists guide users through key actions such as onboarding, feature adoption, configuration workflows, and more. Whatfix enables you to configure task sequencing, progress tracking, Flow launch behavior, and Task List appearance for your end users.

****Configure Task List in Hub****

In Hub, the following **Task List Style** configurations still apply:

- **Task Progress:** Shows task completion status and the progress bar in the Task List tab.
- **Sequential Tasks:** Enforces task completion in the defined order.
- **Header Text:** Enter the title shown to end users in the Task List tab.

Use the following steps to configure these Task List settings:

1. On the [Whatfix Guidance Dashboard](/studio/docs/overview-of-the-whatfix-dashboard), click **Style**.

2. Click **Task lists**.

3. Set the following configurations for your Task List:

  - Display **Task Progress**.
  - Enforce completion of **Sequential Tasks** for users.
  - Enter the **Header Text** on the Task list.
4. Click **Save**.

The following **Task List** configurations in the **Style** section do not apply to the Task List tab in Hub:

- **Icon Color**
- **Position**
- **Header Color**
- **'X' icon color**
- **Execute Flows**

Instead, use the following steps in the **Style** for to configure these settings:

3. 4. Note:

Once you save the changes, you must [publish the changes to **Production**](/studio/docs/pushing-whatfix-content-to-production) so that the latest configurations appear for end users.

****Configure Old Task List****

The Task List can be configured for the following functionalities:

- **Ability to determine a sequence for the tasks in a Task List:** When this feature is enabled, your end users have to attempt tasks in the order in which they are listed. They can progress to the next task only after the previous task is complete.
- **Ability to track task progress:** When enabled, this feature shows the completed status of a task. So if end users have completed two tasks, the completed status bar displays the progress so that users can easily understand how much more content is still remaining.
- **Ability to open a task on the same page, a new page, or as a Pop-up.**
- **Ability to change the font, color, and formatting options.**

Use the following steps to configure the Task List:

1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click **Style**.

1. Click **Task lists**.

2. Make the following configurations to your Task List:

> Note:
> 
> - If you don't select the **Task Progress**, the user will keep seeing the Task List, even after task completion.
> - Sequential Tasks can be enabled only after you select **Task Progress**.
> - The Header Text is the Task List title that is visible to the end user. The Task List segment name that you add while creating a Task List segment is only for your (content creator's) reference, and your end users won't see this title.
  - Change the color of the icon and the header using the **Icon Color** and **Header Color** options respectively.
  - Change the position of the widget from the bottom left to the bottom right.
  - Display **Task Progress**.
  - Enforce sequential completion of tasks.
  - Change the text of the header on the Task list.
  - Determine where each Task List item is opened, that is, in the same window, a new window, or a Pop-up.
3. Click **Save**.

**For example**: Let's assume that you created a Task List to guide your first-time users to go on an onboarding journey of your product. Here's how the Task Progress is displayed to your users.

The Task List is a widget that gives you the ability to assign a list of topics/tasks users must complete as part of a training program.

The feature release stage in which functionality is made available to a limited group of users for testing and feedback. Beta features are generally stable but may still undergo changes before becoming Generally Available (GA).
