# Create a Link

Link your external resources, such as support articles or other content within Whatfix widgets. Links can be included in Whatfix Content and Widgets, such as Self Help, Task List, or Beacons to provide contextual help about your application.

Create Link content on the **Dashboard** or by using **Whatfix Studio**.

Whatfix recommends using the Studio to create static content as **Auto tags** are added to the content only when content is created using Whatfix Studio. Auto tags help in segmenting content so that they appear contextually. If static content is created using the Dashboard, Content creators have to add these tags manually so they appear contextually in widgets, such as Self Help and Task List.

  Create Link content using Whatfix Studio 

Use the following steps to create Link content using **Whatfix Studio**:

1. Log in to your application, and then launch the **[Whatfix Studio](/studio/docs/how-to-install-the-whatfix-editor)**.

Note:

View the Link that you just created in the **Draft Stage** of the Dashboard.

  Create Link content on the Dashboard 

Use the following steps to create Link content on the Dashboard:

To view the content that you just created, go to the **Draft Stage** of the Dashboard.

Note:

View the Link that you just created in the **Draft Stage** of the Dashboard.
