Q4 R1 2024 Release Last updated: November 19, 2024 | |
Anchor content to an Element
What is new?
Whatfix enables you to anchor content such as Beacons, Smart Tip icons, and Launchers directly to specific elements on a page. This ensures that content stays aligned with the selected element as the user scrolls, preventing it from jumping or misaligning within the application.
Why does it matter to me?
Previously, content such as Smart Tips, Beacons, or Launchers placed on specific elements within scrollable sections, such as a sidebar or dropdown, would misalign or jump out of place as users scrolled. This often disrupted the user experience, as the content failed to stay fixed to its intended element.
Anchoring content to specific elements creates a smoother and more stable user experience, especially in cases where Whatfix widgets might not scroll smoothly with the rest of the application. For instance, if a Smart Tip is placed inside a scrollable sidebar, anchoring it to an element keeps it fixed to its intended element, preventing any misalignment or movement as users navigate the content. This feature is particularly useful for applications with complex layouts or sidebars, ensuring that Whatfix content remains accessible and visually consistent.

Anchor content to a Page
What is new?
Whatfix enables you to anchor content such as Smart Tips, Beacons, Flow tooltips, or Launchers, to fixed positions on the screen, irrespective of user scrolling. By anchoring content to the page, it stays in a consistent position relative to the viewport, such as the top, bottom, or side of the screen. This feature is especially useful for elements such as headers or footers that need to remain visible even after users scroll past the first page.
Why does it matter to me?
Previously, content such as Smart Tips, Beacons, Flow tooltips, or Launchers placed on fixed elements, such as headers or footers, moves out of view when users scroll. This made it difficult for users to access guidance that was meant to stay visible, even while scrolling the page.
Anchoring content to a page ensures that the content stays in view and is always accessible to users, no matter how far they scroll. For example, by anchoring a Smart Tip to the header of the page, it stays visible and doesn't scroll out of sight, helping users easily access guidance and information throughout their interaction with the application. This improves user experience by making content more persistent and accessible.
