# Download and translate select content using properties files

Whatfix enables you to download select content using properties files for translation.

**Download select content in property files**

Use the following steps to download select content for translation:

1. 2. 4. **Translating select content in property files**

Once the language file is downloaded on your system, translate the content in properties format.

Use the following steps to translate the content in the downloaded properties format:

1. Extract the zip file and open the file using a text editor like Sublime Text or any text or code editor.

> - If it's the first time translating to the language, translate content under the folder **full**.
> - If you're translating the new content created, translate content under the folder **delta**.
2. Translate the content. Each language has an associated properties file that can be used to translate Whatfix UI texts so that the user has a consistent experience.
3. Once the files are translated, convert them into a .zip folder using a compressor tool and upload them. For more information, see [Upload the Translated Content](/studio/docs/uploading-the-translated-content).
