Embedding a Video In a Pop-Up

You can embed videos in the Smart pop-up message and Guided Pop-up to deliver more information to your users. The video can be embedded anywhere in the description section.

Adding videos in the pop-up is a 2 step process.

Step 1: Getting the video embed code

Follow the steps below to add a video from,

YouTube

Step 1: Getting the video embed code

  1. Go to the YouTube video that you want to add in the pop-up.

  2. Click Share.

  3. Click theEmbed icon.

  4. Click Copy to copy the video embed code.

Step 2: Inserting the video embed code in the pop-up

  1. Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

  2. Click Widgets.

  3. Click Smart Pop-Up or Guided Pop-Up.

  4. Create a new pop-up using New Pop-up button or edit the existing pop-up using the edit icon.

  5. In the Description section, click the  Quick Insert icon.

  6. Click Insert Video option.

  7. Paste the embed code.

  8. Click Insert.

  9. Click Save.

Vimeo

Step 1: Getting the video embed code

  1. Go to the Vimeo video that you want to add in the pop-up.

  2. Click Share.

  3. Click + Show Options.

  4. Disable the checkbox Show text link underneath this video.

  5. Copy the embed code.

Step 2: Inserting the video embed code in the pop-up

  1. Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

  2. Click Widgets.

  3. Click Smart Pop-Up or Guided Pop-Up.

  4. Create a new pop-up using New Pop-up button or edit the existing pop-up using the edit icon.

  5. In the Description section, click the Quick Insert icon.

  6. Click Insert Video option.

  7. Paste the embed code.

  9. Click Save.

Wistia

Step 1: Getting the video embed code

  1. Go to your Wistia account and play the video you want to add in the pop-up.

  2. Hover over the video and click the Share icon.

  3. Click < > Embed to copy the embed code.

  1. Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

  4. Create a new pop-up using New Pop-up button or edit the existing pop-up using the edit icon.

  5. In the Description section, click the Quick Insert icon.

Google Drive

Step 1: Getting the video embed code

  1. Navigate to the video on Google Drive and open it.
  2. On the top right, click the More icon

  4. Click Open in a new window .

  6. On the new window, on the top right, click the More icon and then click Embed item.

  8. Copy the embed code and click OK.

  1. Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

  6. Create a new pop-up using New Pop-up button or edit the existing pop-up using the edit icon.

SharePoint

Step 1: Getting the video embed code

    • SharePoint has two ways to upload videos. Using Microsoft Stream or using the local upload feature. SharePoint does not allow you to share videos that have been locally uploaded, outside SharePoint. Only those videos that are uploaded to Microsoft Stream can be inserted as video content on Whatfix.
    • The end user needs to be permitted to watch the video based on the permissions set on the video. The video will not load, if the user doesn't have the permission. You can make a video viewable to everyone in you organization or individual users in the video permission.
  1. Navigate to the video on Microsoft Stream and open it.
  2. Click Share.

OneDrive

    Step 1: Getting the video embed code

    The Embed option is only supported in OneDrive for Personal and not in OneDrive for Business.
  1. Navigate to the video on OneDrive and open it.
  2. Click theEmbed icon.

  4. In the side bar, click the Generate button.
