Create a copy of a Beacon

A copy of a Beacon can be created in both the widget and content sections within the Dashboard.

  • The content section copy enables you to modify and customize the Beacon.

  • The Widget section copy enables you to edit visibility rules, incorporate Beacons into a collection, and attach content.

Make a copy of a Beacon in Content section on the Dashboard

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Content.

  2. Click Beacons.

  1. Hover your cursor over the Beacon you want to copy and click the More icon.

  2. Click Copy.

  • Whatfix content and widgets can be copied in Draft, Ready, and Production stages.
  • The copy of the Whatfix content or widget is created with the title: Copy of <Content/Widget Title>.

  1. Hover your cursor over the copied Beacon and click the Edit icon.

  2. Make the necessary changes.

  3. Click Save Step.

  4. Click Save.

You must push the copied Beacon segment from the Draft stage or the Ready stage to the Production stage for it to appear on your application. For more information, see Push Whatfix content and widgets to Production.

Make a copy of a Beacon in Widget section on the Dashboard

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click Beacons.

  1. Hover your cursor over the Beacon you want to copy and click the More icon.

  2. Click Copy.

  • Whatfix content and widgets can be copied in Draft, Ready, and Production stages.
  • The copy of the Whatfix content or widget is created with the title: Copy of <Content/Widget Title>.

  1. Hover over the copied Beacon and click the Edit icon.

  2. Expand the Set Visibility Rules section and configure the Visibility Rules that determine how the Beacon collection is displayed to the end user.

  3. Click the When tab, and then select the number of times you want to show the Beacon.

  4. Once you are done configuring the Visibility Rules, click Save.
