Automate data entry in Smart Tips using the Auto Input feature. It enables you to pre-populate a value in a form field. Any value that you define when creating the Smart Tip gets populated without the risk of end users adding errors.
Use the following steps to set the Auto Input feature for a Smart Tip:
When Creating Smart Tips, go to the Advanced Options tab.
To automate a Smart Tip, choose the Automated option.
Select the Auto Input option from the drop-down, and then enter the value that you want to auto-populate in the respective field.
Note:
If you want to use a descriptive template that you want to get populated in or if you want to enter multiple sentences that are common for all your users, you can type any variable using the break tag, as seen in the following image.
If you want to use a dynamic input value like a username, you can use any variable that is defined in custom data as seen in the following image.
For example, you can personalize the Thank you message at the end of a Flow by mentioning the first and last name using the variable - {first_name} and {last_name}.
- Click Save Tip.
Note:
- The Auto Input option is applicable only for fields where keyboard input is expected.
- Repeat the process for every field that needs the auto-populated steps.
