Microsoft Intune enables you to install the Whatfix extension on Microsoft Windows devices using the Store ID and URL. For example, you may have hosted the extension on the Whatfix Store or the Chrome Store.
Note:
You must add groups to organize users and devices before you create a Microsoft Intune policy.
The following steps show how you can install a Whatfix Extension hosted on the Whatfix Store to the Chrome and Edge browsers. Whatfix Store is similar to the Chrome repository where extensions are hosted and served from the Whatfix CDN Server. Whatfix recommends you to host the extension on the Whatfix Store which makes publishing content faster and ensures that your end users see Whatfix content within minutes.
Use the following steps to install the extension using the Extension ID and URL:
Log in to the Microsoft Intune Admin Center.
On the Home page, click Devices.
Click Windows.
Click Configuration.
In the Create dropdown, select New Policy.
In the Create a profile section that opens, expand the Platform dropdown and select the end user’s Windows device version.
In the Profile type dropdown, select Settings catalog.
Click Create.
Enter a Name and Description for the installation.
Click Next.
In the Configuration settings tab, click Add settings.
In the Settings picker section that opens, under Browse by category, select the Google Google Chrome Extensions option.
In the sub-category section that opens, under Setting name, select the Configure the list of force-installed apps and extensions option.
Info:
You can choose to install the Extension on your Microsoft Edge browser simultaneously. In the Browse by category section, use the following steps:
a. Select Microsoft Edge\Extensions.b. In the Setting name section, select the Control which extensions are installed silently checkbox.
Once you have selected the configurations for the required browsers, click the Close icon.
In the Google Chrome > Extension section, enable the Configure the list of force-installed apps and extension toggle.
Info:
Microsoft Intune requires you to specify the Extension ID of the extension and the URL path where the extension is hosted. Depending on your preferred hosting, the URL changes.
