Issue
When creating a Flow, selecting an item in a dropdown menu can be challenging. After expanding the menu, clicking + Step often causes the dropdown to close, preventing you from capturing the desired element.
Suggested Solution
Whatfix enables you to keep the dropdown menu open by using keyboard shortcuts to initiate element capture. These shortcuts prevent the dropdown from closing, allowing you to accurately capture the element.
Note
Before using the shortcuts, click inside the application where you want to capture the dropdown element.
- To insert Step Before: CTRL + SHIFT + Z
- To insert Step After: CTRL + SHIFT + X
- To reselect an element: CTRL + SHIFT + E
These shortcuts provide an alternative to clicking + Step in the Whatfix Studio.
Note
- Keyboard shortcuts are the same for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
- Currently, Whatfix does not support element selection on dropdowns in HTML-based applications.
