Article summary

Integrating Confluence with Whatfix enables you to fetch articles from your Confluence Repository and display them as contextual links in the Self Help widget. You can choose to fetch all the content or only articles in particular folders.

To enable Confluence integration, email the following information to support@whatfix.com:

  • API token. (Information on how to create one is shown in this article.)
  • Email ID of the account used to create the API token.
  • IDs of the spaces that need to be crawled.

Confluence space IDs can be obtained from the URL in the browser. For example, in the following URL https://whatfix.atlassian.net/wiki/RES/overview, the ID for the space Research is RES.

For data privacy, Whatfix recommends creating a separate user account with read-only access to the spaces that need to be crawled and then creating the API token using this account.

Use the following steps to create an API token using your Atlassian account:

  1. Log in to the API Tokens page.

  2. Click Create API token.
    click_create_api_token

  3. Enter a label, and then click Create.
    confluence_enter_label_for_api_token

  4. Click Copy to copy the generated API token.
    click_copy_in_api_token
