# How secure is Whatfix?

Whatfix follows industry best practices to ensure content security and maintain user privacy.

          Info:

Any data about users, such as usernames are considered [Personally Identifiable Information (PII)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/personally_identifiable_information), and therefore is encrypted throughout - in transit and on rest. So anything that is passed as user information or user segmentation information is secure.

          Note:

- Whatfix supports the **https** protocol.
- All accounts/data are access controlled.
- Whatfix supports self-hosting of Flows. Using Whatfix Export mode, Flows can be self-hosted ensuring that there is no data flow outside your servers/premises.
