# How to find the TAG ID of a TAG?

Each tag has its unique tag ID made of alphanumeric characters. You might require a tag ID when writing a script using [Advanced Customization](/studio/docs/advanced-configuration) to perform custom operations.

Use the following steps to find the tag ID of a tag:

The tag ID is copied to the clipboard and can be pasted wherever needed.

The tag ID for a tag is displayed only if the tag is used in at least one Flow. To view the tag ID, click the tag name (as shown in Step 2) and then view the tag in the URL.
