# Upgrade your widgets from existing Visibility Rules to the new Visibility Rules experience

The new Visibility Rules experience help you control where, when, and to whom you display Whatfix widgets. These rules provide more flexibility and precision compared to the old Visibility Rules. For more information, see [Understand the New Visibility Rules experience](/studio/docs/understand-visibility-rules-20). When you enable the new Visibility Rules experience for your account, the new rules apply to all new widgets that you create. However, existing widgets still show the old rules. To use the new Visibility Rules on existing widgets, you need to upgrade them to the new Rules.

### Why would you want to switch to the new Visibility Rules experience?

The new Visibility Rules enable you to:

- Display widgets based on a wide range of triggers, such as other Whatfix content, application data, elements, and more.
- Navigate and configure rules easily using an intuitive interface with clear terminology and organized sections.
- Segment content for various user groups through a dedicated **Who** section.
- Implement advanced use cases without requiring Advanced Customization code.

For more information, see [What has changed in the New Visibility Rules experience?](/studio/docs/what-has-changed-in-visibility-rules-20)

> [!NOTE]
> Info
>
> After the upgrade, a secondary popup appears to enable**continuous evaluation**. This enables content creators to use the new Visibility Rules, where widgets dynamically appear, disappear, or change based on real-time conditions after the page loads. For example, a Pop-up might appear when a specific element is present on the page and disappear when that element is removed or hidden.

> ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a268766e-d74d-4619-9613-e2472f809ffb/Images/Documentation/image(504).png) Only enable **Set to continuous evaluation** if you need your widget to [dynamically](/studio/docs/understand-content-behavior-based-on-advanced-visibility-rules) appear or disappear based on changes in your application. If you are using AC code for your widget’s visibility rules, it’s recommended to check with the Whatfix team before making this change.
