    Nested Grouping in Self Help

    The ability to group content in Self Help, helps structure your content so that your end user can easily understand and navigate through the widget. Nested grouping enables you to extend the ability to group related articles, improving your end user experience.

    Note

    • Each group can have multiple Nested groups.

    • Only one level of nesting is possible within a group in a Self Help segment.

    Use the following process to create a Nested group and then add content to it.

    Create a Nested Group inside Self Help

    Use the following steps to create a nested group:

    1. On the Whatfix dashboard, click Widgets.

    1. Navigate to the Self Help segment you want to add a link to and click the Edit icon.

    2. Click Create.

    3. Click Group.

    4. Enter a name to the group.

    5. Select the Nest under an existing group checkbox, and then select the group you want to nest the sub-group in.

    Note

    The Nest under an existing group checkbox appears only when you already have an existing group in the segment.

    1. Click Create.

    Add Content to the Nested Group

    Use any of the following ways to add content to a nested group:

    Add Content using the Checkbox selection

    Use the following steps to add content in bulk in a sub-group within the Self Help segment using the checkbox:

    1. On the Whatfix dashboard, click Widgets.

    1. Navigate to the Self Help segment you want to add a link to and click the Edit icon.

    2. Select all the content you want to move into an existing Group.

    • You can see the type of content you have selected. In this case, it is a link.

    • You can see the total number of content you have selected.

    1. Click Move to existing group.

    2. Select the sub-group you want to move the content to.

    3. Click Move Content.

    4. Once you have moved all the content, click Save.

    Add Content using the Add Contents to Group icon

    Use the following steps to add content in bulk in a sub-group within the Self Help segment using the checkbox:

    1. On the Whatfix dashboard, click Widgets.

    1. Navigate to the Self Help segment you want to add a link to and click the Edit icon.

    2. Hover your cursor over the nested group, and click the Add Contents to Group icon.

    3. Select the content you want to add to the nested group.

    Note

    You can search for content using the Search box.

    1. Click Okay.

    2. Once you have moved all the content, click Save.

    You can also choose to drag and drop the content in/out of the nested group.
