# Refresh a Beacon Segment

Beacons are configured to expire after a certain period of time. Once the set count or the time duration is complete, the Beacon segment no longer displays. However, if you want the Beacon collection to reappear for your end-users, Whatfix enables you to refresh the segment.

Consider that you want a Beacon to appear every time there is a release. In that case, configure the Beacon to appear with every release by refreshing the segment. This saves you the time of creating a Beacon segment whenever there is a release.

          Note

When a Beacon is refreshed, it appears to all users of the segment, including those who have already interacted with it.

Use the following steps to refresh a Beacon segment:

1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click **Widgets**. ![ia_left_nav_widgets](https://cdn.document360.io/a268766e-d74d-4619-9613-e2472f809ffb/Images/Documentation/ia_left_nav_widgets.png)
