Overview
Whatfix introduces the ability to control the exact order in which widgets appear to end-users using a simple drag-and-drop interface. When multiple widgets are eligible to appear on the same page, Widget priority enables you to decide which widget to show first. Set the precedence of widgets for Pop-ups, Surveys, Self Help, and Task List based on their order of importance on the page. For instance, a maintenance outage Pop-up might take priority over a feature Pop-up on the same page of the application.
Note:
Account managers and content authors can set Widget priority on Whatfix Dashboard. The feature is available for everyone without any additional configuration.
When to use Widget priority on Whatfix Dashboard?
Use Widget priority in scenarios where there are multiple widgets eligible to display for the same user based on your existing visibility rules or when there are conflicting visibility rules. For instance, consider there two Pop-ups with the same advanced visibility rules set for your users. Prioritize their order of appearance using the priority set up.
Set the Widget priority on Whatfix Dashboard
Use the following steps to set the Widget priority on Whatfix Dashboard.
Step 1: Go to Widget priority on Dashboard
On your Whatfix Dashboard, click Settings.

Under Widget, click Widget priority.

The Widget priority page opens with four tabs: Pop-ups, Surveys, Task Lists, and Self Help. Each tab has its own independent priority list and it works in the same manner.

Step 2: Add Widgets to the priority list
If you are setting up priority for the first time, the page shows an empty state. Select the tab for the widget type you want to configure, and add them. For instance, if you are setting the widget priority for Pop-ups, use the following steps to set the precedence:
Under Pop-ups, click Add Pop-ups.

Search for the Pop-up by name or browse the list. You can choose between all the stages of content lifecycle (Draft, Ready, Publish, or All).

Click any Pop-up to preview it in the panel on the right. You can add one or more Pop-ups to the priority list.

Click Add to confirm your selection.

The modal closes and the Widget priority list shows your selected widgets.
Note:
Only Pop-ups and Surveys have the option of previewing before you add them to the priority list.
Step 3: Set the priority order
Widgets are displayed to users in the order they appear in the list. The widget at position number 1 is shown first. Priority numbers update automatically as you reorder the widgets.

To re-order widgets for your users, you have the following options:
Use the drag handle on the left of any row to move it to a new position.
Click the More icon on a widget in the first row and click Move to last to send that widget to the bottom of the list.

Click the More icon on a widget in the last row and click Move to first to send that widget to the top of the list.
Step 4: Add more widgets later
On a populated Widget priority list, add more widgets at any time. New widgets are added to the bottom of the list, which you can re-order if required. You have the option of removing any widget from the list without deleting the widget from any of the content lifecycle stages.

Step 5: Publish widget priority
You do not need to publish Widget priority rules separately. These are published along with the content that you publish.
When you initiate a content publish, the publish modal shows a banner confirming that Widget priority will be published along with other changes or fixes. Review the checklist before you publish to confirm everything is as intended.
