Article summary

Consider that you want to promote a webinar Pop-up on a certain day of the month. Achieve this use case with the new Visibility Rules that enable you to show the Pop-up on a particular day, either weekly, monthly, or just one time. This provides a more precise and effective way to control Pop-up visibility, ensuring that end users see the Pop-up exactly as intended.

Use the following steps to show a Pop-up on a particular day:

Step 1: Create a Pop-up based on your requirements. For more information, see Create a Pop-up.

Step 2: Configure the new Vibility Rules

  1. Go to the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click Pop-ups.

  3. Hover your cursor over the Pop-up segment that you want to configure, and then click the Edit icon.

  4. Click Set Visibility Rules.

  5. In the Visibility rules section, click When does the pop up start and stop appearing?

There are two ways of scheduling a Pop-up on a particular day:

  • Schedule a Pop-up on a particular day within a set timeframe.

  • Schedule a Pop-up only one time (with the option of choosing the timeslot).

Expand the following accordions for more details.

Schedule a Pop-up on a particular day within a set timeframe

  1. From the What causes the pop up to appear? dropdown, select Specific date range.

  2. Enter Start date, Start time, End date, and End time to ensure that the Pop-up doesn't appear longer than intended.

Note:

  • Ensure that you add an End date and End time for your widget to prevent any content failure.

  • The Start and End times determine when your widget starts and stops showing. To configure a time duration during which your widget shows up every day, use the Set interval option. For more information, see Show content based on a specific date.

  1. Enable the Set repeat toggle.

Note:

You must select the Start date, Start time, End date, and End time to enable the Set repeat toggle.

  1. Use the How often should it repeat? dropdown to select a particular day you want the Pop-up to appear.
