Update and manage the translated content

Article Summary

Each time you make changes to your default language content, you need to update the language files for all supported languages.

The Languages section shows a status column that indicates if the translated content is up-to-date with the changes.

Status Description
Up to Date The files are updated with the latest changes.
Added The language has been enabled but no translation has been uploaded.
Out of Date The files need to be updated with the latest translations. Click the Out of Date status link to download and view.

To update content:

Using language files

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
    ia_left_nav_settings

  2. Click Translations.

  1. The language files that need to be updated are marked Out of Date.

  2. Click the status to view the list of content that needs to be updated.

  1. To download the language property .zip file click the Download Delta button.

This downloaded .zip file contains only the files that require an update.

  1. Make the changes, convert the files to a .zip file and upload it to your Whatfix account. See, Upload the content.
Note
  • When you download and extract the files, there are two folders. The Delta folder contains only the content that needs translation (changes to the default content) while the Full Folder has all the available content.
  • Ensure that you do not change the name of the properties file while uploading it back after translation.

Using Whatfix UI

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Settings.
    ia_left_nav_settings

  2. Click Translations.
    ia_left%20nav_translations

  1. The language files that need to be updated are marked Out of Date.

  2. Click the language name and translate the content that require an update.
