# What are In-app Created Content and Static Content?

Whatfix can be used to create different types of content. The content is classified into the following two types:

### In-app Created Content

In-app created content is any Whatfix content that is created using Whatfix Studio on another application. In-app content needs access to the underlying application. In-app created content requires element detection so that Whatfix can display specific content on specific elements on your application. The content is created and segmented before it can be delivered to the end user.

### Static Content

Static content is any content that can be created independent of the underlying application. This means that you do not need to access the underlying application as it does not require element selection using Studio.
