# Do I need to configure Visibility Rules for a Survey added to a Launcher?

No, adding a Survey to a Launcher automatically disables the Survey’s Visibility Rules. The Survey appears only when a user clicks the Launcher button.

> [!WARNING]
> Note:
>
> - To determine when, where, and to whom the Survey appears, configure the [Visibility Rules](/studio/docs/understand-visibility-rules-20) at the Launcher level.
> - When you add a Survey to a Launcher or use a standalone Survey within the application, the user ID is captured. However, if you use a Public Survey, the Survey opens on a new page and hence the user ID is not captured. For more information, see [Unable to capture user ID in public Survey](/studio/docs/unable-to-capture-user-id-in-public-survey).
