# What is the default language used to create content on Whatfix?

The default language refers to the language used to create content on Whatfix. Whatfix recommends using a single language for initial content creation.

Most users select English as their default language.

For example, when creating a Flow, entering text in French sets the default language to French. Translating content requires translating French content into other languages.
