# Why is the Update button disabled on my browser extension?

When you [push content and widgets to the Production stage](/studio/docs/pushing-whatfix-content-to-production) by clicking Push to Production, the browser extension you have enabled is automatically updated. This means that you no longer need to manually update the extension when content is updated.

          Info:

- The update button is disabled on the browser extension when the extension is inactive.
- If you enable the Chrome Store or Edge Store extensions and perform a Push to Production, the extension automatically submits to the respective Stores for review.
- If your extensions are rejected by Chrome or the Edge Store, the **Update** button is enabled so that you can manually submit the extensions for review again.
