DAP on OS collects users' IP addresses and analytics calls and fetches geographical details such as country and city from the IP address. All other data, including the IP address, is discarded. Whatfix accesses Active Directory (AD) Integration to capture location information if available for an account.
From the analytics perspective, if user segmentation is configured based on customer inputs, DAP on OS can track Windows login usernames of users. If it is not configured, DAP on OS fails to capture this data.
DAP on OS stores analytics data the same way as Whatfix Web. If the customer opts for user identification, it is stored in an encrypted format and decrypted on the dashboard for the content creator to access.
