A Simulation is a single unit that links several Workflows together, so learners move through them as one structured flow rather than completing each Workflow in isolation. By default, Whatfix enables Playground Mode when you add Workflows to a Simulation. A Simulation serves two purposes depending on how you configure Playground Mode: - **Playground Mode enabled:** The Simulation links the Workflows so learners can move through them freely. This supports non-linear navigation, where learners can take different paths rather than follow a single fixed route. - **Playground Mode disabled:** The Simulation acts as a folder that groups related Workflows together and presents them to learners in a fixed sequence. For more information, see [Understand Playground Mode](/mirror/docs/understand-playground-mode) and [Disable Playground Mode](/mirror/docs/disable-playground-mode). For example, you can group onboarding Workflows into a Simulation with Playground Mode enabled, so learners move between them in any order. If you want learners to follow a specific onboarding path, you can disable Playground Mode so they complete each Workflow in sequence. > [!WARNING] > Note: > > - Only users with **Account Manager** and **Content Manager** roles can access and view the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard. For more information, see [Whatfix User Roles](/docs/whatfix-user-roles). Use the following steps to create a Simulation and add Workflows to it: 1. On the [Whatfix Mirror Dashboard](/mirror/docs/how-can-i-access-the-whatfix-mirror-dashboard), click **Create simulation**. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a268766e-d74d-4619-9613-e2472f809ffb/Images/Documentation/mr_db_wrkflow_create_simulation.png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-29T12%3A17%3A15Z&se=2026-10-29T13%3A17%3A15Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=X48Ps6nLvxNSivQgIP%2B7cKsd1V2P%2FimmEkLZkwVAKJA%3D) 2. In the **Create simulation** dialog box, enter a name for the Simulation. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/a268766e-d74d-4619-9613-e2472f809ffb/Images/Documentation/mr_db_simulation_name_create(1).png?sv=2026-02-06&spr=https&st=2026-10-29T12%3A17%3A15Z&se=2026-10-29T13%3A17%3A15Z&sr=c&sp=r&sig=X48Ps6nLvxNSivQgIP%2B7cKsd1V2P%2FimmEkLZkwVAKJA%3D) 3. Additionally, you can set a Pass criteria for Assessments. For more information, see [Assessments in Whatfix Mirror](/mirror/docs/assessments-in-whatfix-mirror) and [Create an Assessment](/mirror/docs/create-an-assessment). Whatfix Mirror is an application simulation software that provides an immersive and interactive simulation of any web application. A feature that enables you to connect and link multiple Mirror Workflows to represent a complex user journey across an application or ecosystem. Workflows added to a simulation are automatically linked. A sequence of captured mirror screens representing a specific user journey or process (e.g., "How to create a Lead in Salesforce?"). A mode within Simulation that facilitates the connection and interaction of workflows within the simulated environment. Playground mode is enabled by default. An interactive evaluation created by using existing Simulations to measure how proficiently end users complete tasks without assistance. Defines how many Workflows a user must complete to pass an Assessment. Based on your requirement, you can set it to include all Workflows or a specific number needed to demonstrate proficiency.
