Whatfix Flows are sequential steps that help users learn an objective or complete a task through a series of step-by-step actions. Flows handhold users through various sequential tasks. Flows can be created as an overlay over your Whatfix Mirror. By creating Flows within the Mirror, you can deliver training to your end users within a secure and monitored environment, ensuring that the live environment remains unaffected.
Use the following steps to create a Flow on the Mirror screen:
-
Go to the Mirror on which you want to create the Flow, and then launch Whatfix Studio.
-
Click Flow.
-
Enter the name of the Flow as you want it displayed to the users.
-
Click + Add Step.
On a Mirror screen, you can only select one element. You must manually link the captured screens if you want more than one clickable element on a single page. For more information, see Manually link a Mirror screen.
- Review/Edit the auto generated action text on the step.
Enter any additional information that you want to provide in the description section of the tooltip.
-
Under CONFIGURATIONS, choose the desired position of the tooltip.
-
Click Save Step.
Click Preview to preview the Flow during the Flow creation on Studio. The Flow opens in a new tab and displays the steps that are created on the application. You must create and save at least one step to enable Preview.
-
Go to where you want to start the next step and then click + Add Step on the Whatfix Studio.
-
Repeat steps 5 to 8 to add additional steps.
Display Rules enable you to configure Flows to display the tooltip only when pre-determined conditions are met.
Use the following steps to add Display Rules to Flow steps:
a. Click ADVANCED OPTIONS.
b. Expand the Display Rules section and then click + Add Rule. Display Rules enable you to configure Flows to display the tooltip only when pre-determined conditions are met.
c. Set the desired conditions. For more information on the different conditions that can be used in Display Rules, see Visibility and Display Rule Conditions.
To add multiple conditions use + Add Rule, if needed.
- Click Save Flow.
- To edit a Flow step during the Flow creation, see Edit a Flow.
- The Flow you created is saved on Whatfix, the Flow needs to be pushed to the Whatfix Cloud Server servers before it is available for your users.
