Article summary

Whatfix Pop-ups are informational widgets that appear on your application. Use Pop-ups in Whatfix Mirror to deliver timely notifications and important updates in an interactive simulation of your web application.

Pop-up Use Cases on Mirror

Use Pop-ups in Mirror for the following common use cases:

  • Onboarding New Users: Welcome new users and introduce them to the training experience. Use Pop-ups to explain how to navigate the simulation, interact with elements, or complete the assigned workflow. For example, “Welcome! Follow the instructions on each screen to complete this simulation.”
  • Announcing Training Updates: Inform your users of new or updated Workflows available in Mirror. For example, “We’ve made an update to this workflow. Step 2 now requires selecting a customer region before proceeding.”
  • Emphasizing Important Actions: Draw attention to key steps or decisions your user must take during the simulation. For example, “Before closing the case, make sure you’ve added internal comments explaining the resolution.”

Configure Pop-ups on Mirror

Configure New Visibility Rules and use triggers to determine when and to whom Whatfix displays a Pop-up.

Note:
  • Use the Mirror Screen URL in the Visibility Rules where you want the Pop-up to appear when Enhanced Guidance Deployment is not enabled for your account.
  • Use the base application URL when Enhanced Guidance Deployment on Mirror is enabled. For more information, see Mirror and Guidance Segmentation.

Use the following common triggers to display Pop-ups:

  • When users land on a specific page. For example, on the Reports page of your Salesforce application, display the message ‘Reports now enables PDF downloads of your reports.’
  • Display a Pop-up to a specific group of users. For example, new users, users in a certain country, or users on a specific subscription plan.
  • After users have clicked a button. For example, if a user clicks Delete Opportunity in Salesforce, use a Pop-up to ask for additional confirmation to delete their account.

For more information, see the Configure Pop-ups on Mirror section in Create a Pop-up.
