The Assessment Analytics section in the Mirror Dashboard provides insights into how learners perform during each Assessment. This helps you validate proficiency, track completion, and view insights into individual performance across tasks.
Assessment Analytics helps you:
Measure how learners perform tasks without guidance.
Identify where users make frequent errors or abandon tasks.
Track Assessment outcomes across Workflows and learners.
Compare training effectiveness with actual test performance.

Note:
By default, Whatfix identifies users using browser cookies. If your application is configured with Single Sign-on (SSO), Whatfix identifies users using the configured User ID.
Assessment Analytics includes data only for Assessments in the Production stage and excludes activity from the Ready stage.
All Assessment Analytics metrics are calculated based on Unique users. If a learner attempts an Assessment multiple times, Whatfix counts only their latest attempt.
Use the following steps to access the Assessment Analytics for an Assessment:
On the Whatfix Mirror Dashboard, click Analytics.

Click Assessments.

Click the Expand icon.

Select the Assessment name to filter analytics for a specific Assessment.

Info:
Assessment Analytics display results only for user activity within the selected date range. If no activity occurred during that period, no data appears. Filter the Assessment using default or custom date ranges to view relevant results.
Click Filter and apply a filter to narrow the analytics view. For more information, see User filters in Insights.
Understand the By Assessment Tab
The By Assessment tab tracks learner participation and completion in Assessments using three events:
Assessment Attempted: This event is triggered when a learner starts the Assessment.
Assessment Passed: This event is triggered when a learner completes an Assessment and meets the Pass criteria.
Assessment Failed: This event is triggered when a learner completes an Assessment but does not meet the Pass criteria.
Info:
You can use these events to build custom insights on the Whatfix Analytics Dashboard. For more information, see Create a Trend Insight and Create a Funnel Insight in Mirror.
The following metrics are available in the Assessment Analytics view and help track learner performance across shared Assessments:
Metric | Definition |
|---|---|
Attempted
| The Attempted metric shows the total number of unique learners who start the Assessment. Whatfix counts a learner as Attempted when they launch the Assessment and reach the first screen. Attempted does not indicate whether learners complete or pass the Assessment. |
Passed
| The Passed metric shows the total number of unique learners who meet the configured Pass criteria for the Assessment. Whatfix counts a learner as Passed when they complete the required number of Workflows defined in the Assessment. |
Failed
| The Failed metric shows the total number of unique learners who do not meet the configured Pass criteria for the Assessment. Whatfix counts a learner as Failed when they complete fewer Workflows than required by the Pass criteria. A learner remains in the Failed count until they meet the Pass criteria. |
Assessment Completion Rate
| The Assessment Completion Rate metric shows the percentage of Workflows completed out of the total number of Workflows included in the Assessment by learners who start it. Completion Rate indicates how far learners progress through the Workflows in the Assessment.
|
Users who passed this Assessment
| The Users who passed this Assessment metric lists all unique users who completed the Assessment. This helps verify which users met the Pass criteria and completed the Assessment. |
Workflow wise breakdown - Attempted
| The Workflow wise breakdown - Attempted metric shows the number of users who started each Workflow within the Assessment. This metric helps identify which Workflows users interacted with, even if they did not complete them. |
Workflow wise breakdown - Completed
| The Workflow wise breakdown - Completed metric displays the number of users who completed each Workflow in the Assessment. This metric helps track completion trends and pinpoint Workflows that might be causing drop-offs. |
