# What is a Highlight?

Highlights enable you to grab user attention and get the user to focus on an element while the rest of the screen is blacked out. For example, highlight a new feature on your app.

When using a Highlight, the end user is restricted to clicking only one particular element and cannot interact with other elements on the app screen.
