Event groups enable you to group two or more events to understand user behavior.
After creating an Event group, add it to a Trend Insight to visualize data using various charts for specific time periods.

Use case

Analyze how users engage with the various content in Self Help across applications.

Use the following steps to add an Event group to Trend Insights:

  1. On the Enterprise Insights dashboard, click Insights.
    ecc_ia_insights

  1. Click Create insights.
    ECC-CreateInsights

  2. Click Trend Insights.

Info:
  • The Description provides context about the created Insight when added to a Dashboard.
  • It also enables other stakeholders to understand the data depicted by the Insight while viewing Dashboards created by other team members.
  1. From the Select user type dropdown, choose whether to analyze data for All users, Identified users, or Anonymous users.

Note:
  • By default, Insights data may contain identified (users identified by User ID) and unidentified (users not identified but denoted by Anonymized Whatfix IDs) users.
  • The Event identification rate indicates the percentage of events Whatfix is able to attribute to uniquely identified users.

  • For more information on filtering users and understanding the Event identification rate, see How can I filter unidentified users in Enterprise Insights?

  1. Click the Data source icon and select the stage from which you want to get the data.

Note:
  • For more information on obtaining analytics data from different stages, see Get Analytics Data across CLM Stages.

  6. Click Applications, and select the applications that you want.

Example:
The Event group, Self Help usage contains the following events:

  • Video link clicked
  • Flow started

Note:
  • The Event Type filter is available for all Event groups. This filter enables you to filter the event group based on the events added to the group.

  • The Applications breakdown is available for all Event groups. This breakdown lists all the applications where the events in the Event group are performed.
    ei_event_group_applications_breakdown

  • If you've added two events to an Event group, Trend Insights lists only the filters and breakdowns common to both events. For example, if you add Self Help opened and Beacon clicked, only the common filters between the events appear. If there are no common filters, only Event Type is displayed as a filter.

  1. In the User filter section, click Add user filter, and then select the desired filter.
    trends_session_analytics_user_filter

  2. In the User breakdown section, click Add user breakdown, and then select the desired breakdown.
