What are deprecated events?
An event may appear deprecated in Product Analytics. It means that the event is no longer recommended for use.
Which event is deprecated?
Currently, Whatfix has deprecated the Pop-up shown event. However, you can continue to track this event and more by using an Event group.
To use Pop-up shown as an Event group, add the following events to create the Event group:
Pop-up skipped: Triggered when users skip a Pop-up.
URL Triggered via Pop-up: Triggered when users click a URL within a Pop-up.
Pop-up closed by "X" icon: Triggered when users close a Pop-up using the "X" icon.
Flow launched from Pop-up: Triggered when a Flow is launched directly from a Pop-up.
Pop-up closed by close button: Triggered when users close the Pop-up using the close button.
Pop-up carousel slides shown: Triggered when a carousel Pop-up slide is shown to end users. This update is to ensure events captured on each carousel slide.
For more information on creating event groups on the Product analytics dashboard, see Event grouping.
What if the deprecated event is already used in existing insights and/or cohorts?
If you have already used Pop-up shown in your insights and/or cohorts, the event remains unchanged. Hence, the data doesn’t change either.
Should I continue to use Pop-up shown (deprecated) event?
No, you must not select the deprecated event anymore. Instead, use Pop-up shown as an Event group by adding the events mentioned above.
