When integrating Sharepoint with Whatfix, you can add multiple content types such as articles, documents and site pages. Based on the content type you select, the following details need to be generated from the SharePoint application,
Content Type | Details Required |
---|---|
Article | List Name |
Document | List Name, Library Name, Folder Absolute Path (optional) |
Site Page | List Name |
Expand the following sections for steps to find the above information on your SharePoint application.
-
Log in to your SharePoint application.
-
In the left pane, click Site contents.
-
Under the Name column, find the list name of the content that you want to crawl.
For example, if you want to crawl a document type named Docs, then use the list name highlighted in the following image.
The same procedure can be followed to find the list name of articles and site pages as well.
-
Log in to your SharePoint application.
-
In the left pane, click Site contents.
-
Select the document library that you want to crawl.
-
On the redirect page, copy the URL on the address bar.
The value after the URL domain is the library name for the document.
-
Replace %20 with a blank space and then add it in the SharePoint Integration pop-up.
The library name for the above example URL is Shared Documents.
-
Log in to your SharePoint application.
-
In the left pane, click Site contents.
-
Select the document library that you want to crawl.
-
Inside this document, if you want to crawl a specific folder.
For example, HR documents, then the absolute path for this folder is Documents/HR Documents.
- To crawl multiple folders, you can specify the absolute paths of the folders separated by commas (,).
- You can crawl up to 10 folders in a single integration.
- No content is crawled if you specify the incorrect path order or misspell folder names.
- In case you have both right and incorrect path names, then the content for the right folder path is crawled.
