How does Whatfix tracks end-user's progress on a Flow?

Whatfix tracks the progress on a Flow through API calls that get triggered when your end users interact with elements on the application. These callbacks are configured by Whatfix to track events at various points while the Flow is running live. It is by capturing these events that Whatfix tracks the progress on a Flow.

For example, if your end users begin a Flow on an application, the callbacks are sent and the event related to Flow step 1 is triggered. Now, if they progress through the Flow, the various events configured with each step gets triggered.

There are many events that are tracked based on the different paths chosen by your end-users while progressing in a Flow. For example, if your end-users close the Flow using the close button on the Flow tooltip, an event related to the callback is captured.

Info:

Whatfix does not capture any data from the base application, but receives events when your end users interact with Whatifx elements.

Whatfix provides hooks to access your application data and send it to Analytics (Whatfix, Google, or Custom Analytics) for further processing. To know more, see data captured by Whatfix for Analytics.
