Nudges are visual cues on Hub that enable you to guide end users by:
Using tooltips to introduce Self Help to new users
Use tooltips or trigger the Hub panel to open on page load, to remind users — to complete pending tasks on the Task List
Note:
Hub is a Beta feature. To enable this feature for your account, contact support@whatfix.com.
In the Hub widget, if you configure both Task List and Self Help nudges, Whatfix shows Task List nudges. Whatfix only shows Self Help nudges when no Task List Nudge is active.

Overview
In Hub, Whatfix enables you to configure nudges for:
Task Lists: to remind users to complete pending tasks
Self Help: to introduce Self Help to new users
When both nudges evaluate true for the same user on a given page, Task List nudges take priority over Self Help nudges. This ensures that time-sensitive, task-driven guidance is shown first.
Types of Nudges in Hub
Task List Nudge
On the Whatfix Dashboard, configure Task List nudges in Widgets → Task List → Nudge. For more information, see Nudge users to complete the Task list.
Configure Task List nudges:
Define trigger conditions to nudge users based on Task completion rate, for the first n times, or if users complete less than the pre-defined percentage of tasks for a given Tasklist

Choose the nudge trigger:
Keep Task List Open: Opens Hub automatically on the Task List tab
Show tooltip to complete Tasklist: Displays a tooltip adjacent to the FAB or when the Hub panel opens

Self Help Nudge
On the Whatfix Dashboard, configure Self Help nudges in Style → Self Help → Attention → Nudge. Configure Self Help nudges to appear as a tooltip alongside the FAB or the open Hub panel, to introduce Self Help to new users. For more information, see Nudge users to show Self Help.

When does Hub open automatically?
Hub opens automatically only when you configure a Task List nudge and enable the Keep Task List Open trigger.
Task List nudge + Keep Task List Open enabled → Hub opens automatically
Task List nudge without Keep Task List Open → Hub does not open automatically
Self Help nudge → Hub does not open automatically
Tooltip nudges require users to manually open Hub by clicking the Floating Action Button (FAB).
Nudge Behavior Scenarios
The following table summarizes how Hub behaves for each Nudge configuration scenario.
Scenario | Tooltip behavior | Hub behavior |
|---|---|---|
Only Self Help nudge configured | Self Help tooltip appears alongside the FAB and open Hub panel. | Hub opens only when the user clicks the FAB or tooltip, and shows the Explorer tab |
| Task List tooltip appears alongside the FAB and open Hub panel. | Hub opens when the user interacts with the tooltip or FAB, showing the Task List tab |
| No tooltip shown. | Hub opens automatically on page load and shows the Task List tab. |
Both Task List and Self Help nudges configured |
| Task List nudge takes priority; Hub opens automatically with the Task List tab shown only if you enable Keep Task List Open. |
Info:
Whatfix displays only one nudge to end users at a given time.
On Hub, when you configure both Self Help and Task List nudges, Task List nudges are shown since they are set at a segment level. These nudges override Self Help nudges, which you configure at a global level, and thus apply to all Self Help segments in your account.
