Customizing a Beacon

You can customize a Beacon and the text that appears with it so that it suits the rest of your application.
A Beacon can be customized in two places:
- Account Level
- Beacon Level
Each Whatfix Beacon can have its unique properties— Beacon style and Beacon color, different from the Account Level Configurations.
For example, all the Beacons in your account can be radial styled but you can customize one Beacon to be NEW styled when you want to focus on a new update.

The Account Level Configuration for Beacons are available by default. To enable Beacon Level Configuration, contact [email protected].
Customizing Beacon at the Account Level
Use the following steps to customize the Beacon at the Account Level,

Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

Click Widgets.

Click the Beacon tile.

In the left pane, click Configuration.
- You can make the following changes.
- Change the Beacon Color using the color picker
- Change the Tip Color using the respective color picker
- Customize the style, color, and size of the text that appears when the user hovers their mouse over the beacon.

You can use the respective hexadecimal color code to define any other color that you want to use. For a more comprehensive list of colors and codes, see Hexadecimal Color Codes.
- Click Save.
Customizing a Beacon at the Beacon Level
Use the following steps to customize a particular Beacon,

Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

Click Filter.

Click the Beacon checkbox, and then click Apply to filter all the Beacon Collections.

Hover your cursor over the Beacon Collection you want to customize a Beacon from, and then click the Edit icon.

On the Beacon you want to customize, click Edit.

Under the Beacon Style section, choose the style and color of the Beacon.

- You can select the Custom style to change the text of the Beacon.
- If you don't see the customization options, contact [email protected]
- By default, the Beacon color is red.
- To change the Beacon color, click the Customise this Beacon checkbox and then select a color. You can choose from the existing color palette or pass the hex code of the desired color.
- Click Save Step.
