Scheduling an Integration

Once you have integrated an application with Whatfix (for example, Confluence Integration), you can schedule it to run automatically at a specific interval of time, so that any data changes that you have post the integration are also factored in.

Benefits of scheduling an Integration:

  • Reduces manual intervention.
  • Increases transparency on data movement.

To schedule an Integration,

  1. Navigate to the Whatfix Dashboard.

  2. Click Integrations.

  3. On the All Integrations page, navigate to the Integration that you want to schedule and make sure the Integration is in an Active state.

  4. Click Schedule Run.

  5. The various options that you can configure are listed below.

    • Start On- Set the start date and time period.

    • Time zone- Specify the time zone from the drop-down for the specified dates to follow.

    • Repeat- Configure the frequency of the Integration run during the selected time period.

    • Ends-

      1. Select the Never option, if you want the Integration to run forever.
        (or)
      2. Select the On option and then specify the end date and time period.

  6. Click Save.

  • Only Integrations in an active state can be scheduled.
  • A webhook based integration (for example, SurveyMonkey Integration cannot be scheduled.

A few use cases are shown below.

Pushing Flow as slideshow/article to Confluence and Zendesk- Monthly

In the Schedule integration run pop-up,

  1. Set the start date and time period.
  2. In the Repeat section, select Once a month.

  3. Now set the end date and then click Save.

Pushing Whatfix analytics data to a BI tool - Weekly

In the Schedule integration run pop-up,

  1. Set the start date and time period.
  2. In the Repeat section, select Once a week.

  3. Now set the end date and then click Save.

Pulling Role information from Salesforce and Successfactor- Weekly forever

In the Schedule integration run pop-up,

  1. Set the start date and time period.
  2. In the Repeat section, select Once a week.
    once_a_week
  3. Now select the Never option in the Ends sections and then click Save.
