A Smart Tip, once created, must always be a part of a Smart Tip collection to get displayed on the page/application.
Whatfix displays only one Smart Tip collection per page at any given time. When creating multiple Tips on a single page, ensure that you add the Tips to the existing collection.
To enable Whatfix to evaluate multiple Smart Tip collections on a page, contact [email protected]. This feature is currently Closed Beta and is available only for selected customers.
Position the Tooltips, so they don't hide any elements on your page.
Avoid adding Tooltips for fields that are self-explanatory.
Adding a video to your Tooltip is a great way to engage your newly signed-up users or explain a lengthy process. Videos can also be included within the onboarding pop-up. Add videos using the Rich Text Editor.
To create Smart Tips, see Smart Tips.
Use contrasting colors that make the Tooltip noticeable on your website/application. This is to ensure that the Tooltips are not lost on your interface.
For more information on contrast checking, see this contrast checker website that could help you decide.
Use simple words and sentences while creating Whatfix content. Keep the description in your Tooltip brief and to the point.
Ensure that the images you insert in your content don't exceed the width of the tooltip or pop-up to avoid any distorted images. Exceeding 270 pixels introduces a scroll bar.
Position the Tooltips so that they don't hide any elements on your page. In certain cases, the Tooltip could inadvertently hide certain important UI leading to poor user adoption.
Choose the best available Tooltip theme to ensure the UI of the Tooltip matches your website/application’s UI.
