You can deploy Whatfix content on the Whatfix cloud, or Self-Host the content or it can also be on-premise.
Self-Hosted model:
In the Self-Hosted deployment model, the content you create using the Editor and Dashboard is stored in the Whatfix cloud. You can then download and export it to your servers from where it is deployed to your end users.
All the latest features that are available for Whatfix are available on the Self-hosted model of deployment.
On-Premise model:
In the On-premise deployment model, you create, host, and deploy the content on your private servers. Whatfix generates a separate Editor extension, and there is no connection between Whatfix and the content you create on your private servers.
For an on-premise model, Whatfix cannot push new features directly. When you request a feature, Whatfix adds the new feature in an installation package, which is then installed by your organization's IT team.
