What is Ask Whatfix AI?

Organizations use a data-driven approach to make product decisions. Whatfix's Product Analytics enables you to visualize and generate insights regarding end users' Whatfix DAP (Digital Adoption Platform) engagement and interactions with the product or application.

However, there are a few things to be set up before data visualization, such as:

• Identifying the right Insight type (Trend, Funnel, or User Journey) to visualize data.

• Finding the appropriate event for the data point.

• Applying relevant filters and breakdowns.

To simplify the data visualization process, Whatfix introduces Ask Whatfix AI. Ask Whatfix AI is an AI-powered capability that automatically converts end-user engagement queries into Trend Insight, Funnel Insight, or User Journey charts.

Ask a question, and Ask Whatfix AI provides the answer as a Trend, Funnel, or User Journey visualization based on your query. It also supports follow-up questions based on the initial query.

Benefits of Ask Whatfix AI

No events or breakdowns need to be set up to visualize the data. For example, type how many users have seen a particular Pop-up or how many users dropped-off from a Flow, and Ask Whatfix AI shows the data as a Trend, Funnel, or User Journey chart based on the query.

For granular analysis using different filters or breakdowns, Ask Whatfix AI creates an editable Trend Insight, Funnel Insight, or User Journey based on the query.

Note:

User breakdowns are available only for Trend Insights.

How does Ask Whatfix AI work?

Ask Whatfix AI uses Large Language Models (LLMs) to generate charts from engagement-related queries.

Ask Whatfix AI shows eight predefined queries or prompts that can help you get started.

Feedback

Provide feedback on the Ask Whatfix AI experience by clicking a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down.

Data privacy and security

Ask Whatfix AI does not display any Personally Identifiable Information (PII)-related filters such as User ID, User type, User Attributes, and Reserved Variables.

The LLM does not capture any confidential or contextual information, such as the number of times a Flow step failed and which Flow step failed. This data remains securely within Whatfix.

Prerequisite

End users must engage with the DAP content or the application for Ask Whatfix AI to display data.

Limitations of Ask Whatfix AI

• The Trend Insight chart generated by Ask Whatfix AI does not include table and donut chart views.

• Event groups are not supported by Ask Whatfix AI.

Use Ask Whatfix AI

Use the following steps to access Ask Whatfix AI and generate a Trend Insight:

1. On the Whatfix Analytics dashboard, click Ask Whatfix AI.  

   

2. Enter the question in the text box, and then click the Ask icon.

If you’re unsure of what questions to ask, click a tile containing a predefined question.

Note:

• A Trend, Funnel, or User Journey chart corresponding to your question appears.

• Ask Whatfix AI shows the event and metric used to generate the various charts.

• Change the date filters, metrics, and chart types as required for Trend Insights.

   

• In Funnel Insights, change the date filters and compare the data for a custom date range.

   

• In User Journey, change the date filters and the Journey steps shown (number of levels).  

   

3. Click View in Insight to drill down on the data with more filters.  

Note:

An editable Trend Insight, Funnel Insight, or User Journey is automatically generated for your query. Whatfix enables you to customize the Insights by adding filters or breakdowns and then save the Insight.
