Major Performance Improvements
What is new?
Whatfix Desktop now has massively improved performance:
- Flows that transition from a web application to Desktop start up to five times faster.
- During high CPU usage, Whatfix Desktop runs much more smoothly.
Why does it matter to me?
- Desktop Flows that start from the browser now launch in under 3 seconds, enabling end users to use cross-platform Flows with ease.
- Use Whatfix Desktop along with other applications without impacting Whatfix's performance.
How do I do this?
Whatfix Desktop's performance improvements are available by default.
Multiple Beacon and Smart Tip segments on the same page
What is new?
Whatfix Desktop now enables you to create multiple Beacon and Smart Tip segments on the same page.
Why does it matter to me?
Previously, if there were multiple Smart Tip and Beacon segments on the same page, only one segment would show. Now you can create multiple segments on the same page, giving you more freedom in the way you can organize your segments.
How do I do this?
To enable this feature, contact support@whatfix.com.
MSI installer for Studio
What is new?
Whatfix Studio now has an MSI installer in addition to the existing EXE installer.
Why does it matter to me?
Whatfix recommends the MSI installer for the following reasons:
- MSI is a Windows Installer format that follows a standardized installation process managed by the Windows operating system.
- MSI supports built-in silent installation, which is ideal for automating software deployment without user interaction.
How do I do this?
For more information on installing Whatfix Studio and for the MSI installer download links, see Install Whatfix Desktop Studio. If you have already installed the EXE Studio, the MSI installer will replace the existing Studio.
System Level installer for Studio
What is new?
Whatfix Studio now has a system-level installer. This method enables you to install Studio for all users in a system.
Why does it matter to me?
System-level installation is carried out by an IT admin and is best suited for when you want to install Studio on a Virtual Machine such as Citrix or Azure Virtual Desktop.
How do I do this?
For more information on system-level installation and the system-level installer download links, see Install Whatfix Desktop Studio.
Deprecation of Studio installers from before November 2023
What is new?
Whatfix Desktop Studio installers from before November 2023 are to be sunset by Q4 R1.
Why does it matter to me?
If you are using an installer from before November 2023, download a new installer.
How do I do this?
For the installer download links of Whatfix Studio, see Install Whatfix Desktop Studio
