Only users with the Administrator role who has API token access enabled can generate the API token.

How to enable API tokens

Use the following steps to enable API tokens,

  1. Go to the Admin Center, and in the left panel, click Apps and Integrations.
  2. Click APIs, and then select Zendesk APIs.
  3. Under the Settings tab, enable the Token Access toggle.

How to generate API token

Use the following steps to generate API tokens,

  1. Go to the Admin Center, and in the left panel, click Apps and Integrations.
  2. Click APIs, and then select Zendesk APIs.
  3. Under the Settings tab, next to Active API tokens, click Add API token.
  4. Enter an API token description.
  5. Copy the token.

  6. Click Save.
