Insert a video in a Flow step by either using its URL or the Embed code.
Use the following steps to insert a video in a Flow:
- Open the desktop application where you would like to create the Flow and then launch the Whatfix Desktop Studio.

- Click Flow.

- Enter the name of the Flow as you want it displayed to the users.

- Click + Add Step.

- Under Choose step type, select the Flow step type.

- With the Flow enhancement feature, you have the option to select two types of Flow steps, and not just element latching Flows. A dialog box appears on the application to highlight the two types of Flows. Under Choose step type, select a Flow step based on your requirements: either Attached to element or Free-floating.

| Attached to element | Free-floating |
|---|---|
| When you select this type of Flow step, it remains attached to an element on your application. | When you select this type of Flow step, it remains flexibly positioned devoid of any element attachment. |
You also have the option to select a default template by clicking Set as Default for all the subsequent steps in a Flow. If you change the default step at an enterprise (ENT) level, it appears the same for all the users using that ENT.
For more information, see Free-floating steps in Flows and Create a Flow with Free-floating steps.
Free-floating Flows is currently Beta. Contact support@whatfix.com for more information.
- Click the desired element on the page that the user needs to select.
- Enter action text and any additional information that you want to provide in the description section of the tooltip.

- Click the Description section of the tooltip and select the Insert Video icon from the Rich text editor.

- Add a video to the content.

If you want the video to autoplay for your end users, click Autoplay while inserting the video.

Any Video that you want to insert in a Flow step using the browsing option has to first be uploaded to your Dashboard.
For more information on uploading Videos to your Dashboard, see Upload Videos to your Dashboard.
Whatfix enables you to add videos to your content either by entering either the URL or the Embedded code or Browse option. The Browse option refers to the videos hosted on Whatfix Dashboard.
Add the URL of the Video
If you have uploaded videos to your Dashboard, and you want to insert them in your Whatfix content, you can copy and paste the video link in the URL field.

To find the link to the video you uploaded to your Dashboard, see Upload Videos to your Dashboard.
Add the Embedded code of the video

- All popular video formats including .mp4, MPEG, MKV, WebM, and more are supported.
- However, if you are inserting a video hosted on the Whatfix Dashboard, then only .mp4 video files that are less than 100 MB in size are currently supported.
- Click the inserted video to see the following customization options.

- Replace: Enables you to replace the video in case you have added the wrong one.
- Remove: Enables you to remove the video.
- Click Save Flow.
