The enhanced publishing experience gives you control over which content you want to publish. Choose only the content you want to publish, minimizing the impact on other team members’ content and overall modifications, such as Advanced Customization (AC) changes. The new experience comes with an upgraded UI to move content between stages, an overview pop-up that displays all changes to the dashboard, selective publishing, and much more.
Note:
The new publishing experience is a Beta feature. To enable this experience, contact support@whatfix.com.
The following table describes the differences between the old and new publishing capabilities:
Old experience | Enhanced experience |
---|---|
Send to ready | Send to ready: Use the Send to ready button within the actions bar to move content from the Draft stage to the Ready stage. |
Send to draft | Move to draft: Use the Move to draft button within the actions bar to move content from the Ready stage back to the Draft stage. |
Push to Production | Publish: Use the Publish button within the actions bar to publish content.
|
Push all to production | Publish all: View all the changes that you want to publish. The Publish changes dialog box displays all the modifications that will go live. The modifications include Content, Widgets, Style, User actions, Advanced customisation, Repository links, and bug fixes. Once you verify the changes and select the content that you want to publish, click Publish. |
Remove from production | Unpublish: Use the Unpublish button with the actions bar to remove content from the Production stage. The content moves to the Draft stage and no longer appears for your end-users. |
Export Production Package | Published package: Click the Published package button to create an on-premise deployment package that includes multi-export content. |
