Whatfix enables content creators to translate content using excel format. This can be done by downloading the language file in the excel format from the dashboard and then translating the content.
Use the following steps to download the excel format,
On the Whatfix dashboard, at the top right, click the Settings icon.
Click Translations.
Click the Download icon next to the language file you want to download.
From the pop-up, choose the .xlsx format option.
Click Download.
The language file gets downloaded in .zip format.
Use the following steps to translate the content in the downloaded excel format,
- Extract the zip file and open the excel format.
If it's the first time you're translating to the language, translate content in the sheet Full.
If you're translating the new content created, translate content in the sheet Delta.
- Translate the content in the target language column.
- You receive the following error when the downloaded content exceeds the character limit of the excel and cannot be translated in the excel format.
- Error: Field could not be exported due to Excel character limit. Please update the translation on Whatfix Dashboard.
- This content can be translated using Whatfix UI.
- Once the files are translated, convert them into a .zip file using a compressor tool and upload them.
