Embed a Wistia video using URL

Whatfix enables embedding Wistia videos to any Pop-up template to deliver more information to users. Embed the video in the description section of the Pop-up.

Adding a video URL in a Pop-up is a two-step process:
Step 1: Get the video URL
Step 2: Insert the video URL in the Pop-up using the Visual Editor

Step 1: Get the video URL

Use the following steps to get the video URL:

  1. Go to your Wistia account.

  2. On the left navigation panel, go to Folder and then click Media.
    Click the media from folder on your Wistia account

  3. Click Share.
    Click share to copy the video link

  4. Click Share a link.
    Share the video link from your Wistia account

  5. Select Copy to copy the video link.
    Click copy to copy the video link

Step 2: Insert the video URL in the Pop-up using the Visual Editor

Use the following steps to insert the video URL in the Pop-up using the Visual Editor:

  1. On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Widgets.

  2. Click All widgets.

  1. Click the Edit icon.

  2. In the Description section, place the cursor where you want to add the video and double-click to open the Rich Text Editor.

  3. Click the + icon. The Add Component dialog box opens.

  4. On the Add Component dialog box, click Video.

  5. Paste the video URL.

  6. Click Insert.

Info:
  • Use the Drag and Drop feature to move or reposition the video around the Pop-up.

  • Use the Drag Handlers to move or reposition the video both vertically (column-wise) and horizontally (row-wise).

Note:
  • You might not be able to undo certain changes once you make changes to the Pop-up using the Drag Handlers. In that case, re-creation of the Pop-up might be necessary. For more information, see Can I undo the changes made with the Drag Handlers?
  • If you want the video to autoplay for your end users, click Autoplay while inserting the video.

  1. Finish creating the Pop-up.
