When you create content on Whatfix, there is some text that is already present on each kind of content. For example the Next button on a Flow step. Such a text is called a Custom Label.
Custom Labels enable you to change the name of certain labels in the Whatfix UI so that they suit your organization's style and branding guidelines. For more information on the labels and a list of all the labels available in Whatfix, see List of labels in Whatfix.
For example, you can change the default Self Help search field text that says, Enter your search criteria here to Type your search term that might be more suitable for your users and the branding style of your application.
To rename the labels, perform the following steps:
- On the Whatfix Guidance dashboard, click Style.
- Click Custom Labels.
- Search and find the labels you want to rename.
- Enter your custom label in the fields adjacent to the respective labels.
- Once done, click Save in the top-right corner.

If you want to translate the custom labels to another language, select Properties from the Content Type dropdown on the Translation page. For more information on how to translate content to another language, see Auto Translate Whatfix Content.
