Trigger a Smart Tip using a User action

Whatfix enables you to add Triggers to a Smart Tip. Triggers help you provide contextual nudges to your end users. Select an element and add a User Action as a Trigger to show a Smart Tip to your users.
As a prerequisite, you need to create a User Action before creating a Trigger.
Use the following steps to add a Trigger to a Smart Tip using a User Action:

Log in to the application where you want to create content, and then launch the Whatfix Studio.

Under WIDGETS, click Smart-tip.

Enter a name for the Smart tip Collection.
- A Smart Tip Collection is a group of Smart Tips created on the same page of an application.
- The Smart Tip Collection name is solely for your (Creator's) reference and is not visible to the end user.
- Click + Add Help Tip to create a new Smart Tip.

Select an element on the application to which you would like the Smart Tip to point.

Enter the purpose of the Smart tip.

In the CONFIGURATIONS tab, expand the Interaction dropdown, and then in the Display smart-tip on section, select when you want to display the Smart Tip.

Expand Appearance, under the Tooltip section, make the following configurations:
- Color: Select a tooltip Color from the existing color picker or enter the hex code of the desired color.
- Close (X): Choose to show or hide the X icon on the tooltip by enabling or disabling the Close (X) toggle.
- Close (X) color: Select the Close (X) color from the existing color picker or enter the hex code of the desired color.
- Title: Select font size, color, and style of the Tool Tip Title.
- Description: Select font size, color, and style of the Tool Tip text.
- Under the Icon section, select the Type, Color, and Size of the icon.
Whatfix enables you to add custom icons for Smart Tips. To add custom icons, see Use custom icons for Smart Tips.

Under the Positioning section, adjust the position of the Smart Tip.

In the Tooltip Position section, choose the position of the tooltip.

Go to the ADVANCED OPTIONS and scroll down to the Triggers section.

Use the dropdown to select the When user performs an action option as a Trigger.

Click Select User Action.

Select the User Action that needs to be performed to display the Smart Tip.

To add one more scenario click + Add scenario and then add the User Action.

Click Save Tip.
Upto 5 combination of Triggers can be added to a Smart Tip.
