Whatfix enables you to customize how Smart Tips appear to your end users. Format text, choose colors, define if you want to use the 'i' icon or a custom icon, determine how long you want the Smart Tip to appear, and more.

- Customization options such as changing the Tip color, header text, and more are applied universally to all the Smart Tips created on the application, including the existing Smart Tips. However, changing the default style of the Smart Tips affects only those created after the settings change, not the existing ones.
- This universal customization enables you to maintain consistency within an application.
Customize Smart Tips
Use the following steps to customize Smart Tips:

On the Whatfix Guidance Dashboard, click Style.

Click Smart-tips.
- Expand Appearance and make the following configurations:
- Color: Select the color of the Tooltip from the existing color picker or enter the hex code of the desired color.
- Close(X): Enable or disable the 'X' icon on the Smart Tip.
- Close (X) color: Select the color of the 'X' icon from the existing color picker or enter the hex code of the desired color.
- Title: Select the text size, style, and color for the Smart Tip title.
- Description: Select the text size, style, and color for the Smart Tip description.
- Icon: Select an icon for the Smart Tip.

Click +Add Icon to add custom icons from the Icon library. For more information, see Use custom icons for Smart Tips.
- Color: Select the color of the icon from the existing color picker or enter the hex code of the desired color.
- Size: Select the icon size using the dropdown.
- Expand Interaction and make the following configurations:
- Show Smart tip: Select when you want to display the Smart Tip.
- Display: Configure the time for which the Smart Tip appears and then disappears. The time unit for both the Appear in and Disappear in options is milliseconds (ms). For example, if the Appear in time is set to 500 ms, it means the Smart Tip will take half a second to appear after being triggered. Similarly, if the Disappear in time is set to 1000 ms, the Smart Tip will stay visible for one second before automatically disappearing.
- Click Save to save the changes.
Note:
- If you click Discard changes, all the modifications you've made to the content will be lost, and the page will revert to its previous saved state.
- Any changes that you make are applied universally to all the Smart tips that you may have on your application. This includes Smart Tips that you have already created.
- A Smart Tip set to perform data validation cannot be customized.
