Understand the in-app Troubleshooting Report

The In-App Troubleshooting report contains details about the failed steps, a video of the test run, a plausible reason for step failure, and a suggested fix based on the provided reason.

The following table lists the different reasons for step failure:

Reasons for FailureDescription
Advanced options given for step failed to find the elementThis reason appears when the advanced options given for the step cannot find the element.
Step is not created on the current opened pageThis means that the step has been created on a different page and the page tag recorded by Auto testing during the time of Flow creation does not match the page tag of the current page
Element could not be found on the pageThis reason appears when the element is not found on the page.
Unable to login into the applicationThis means that Auto testing could not log in to your application
Input not provided for the step to Auto Input/Auto SelectThis appears when content creators have not provided inputs for the steps that have auto input or auto select as the Step completion rule.
The page is not accepting the current input data for the stepThis reason appears when the page does not accept the input data provided by content creators for the step.
This reason often comes up in the auto select Step completion rule when the provided input does not match any of the options in the dropdown.
Unknown failures occurredThis appears when Whatfix is unable to analyze the reason for failure.
Invalid Input cannot be entered for the step because the element on which the step is created doesn't accept any inputThis appears when content creators have given input data for a step element that does not accept any inputs.

Check the advanced options for the stepThis suggestion means that you need to check the Display Rules under Advanced options for the step using Live Edit.
Check Login Flow and credentials for the applicationThis suggestion appears when Auto testing fails to log in to your application. You need to check the Login Flow or the credentials provided.
Provide appropriate input for the stepAuto testing cannot proceed when the Test Case is not automated. Ensure that the inputs provided for the step are correct.
Check the input given for the stepThe input values are case-sensitive. Ensure that you add the exact value to be selected for the dropdown for auto select Step completion rule.

The step is created on uneditable element, reselect the element, or remove the input if its not requiredTest cases can fail when you put inputs to a step that does not accept input data. In such cases, you need to check if the step you are providing inputs for requires an input or not.
