Understand Assessment Mode

Assessment Mode in Mirror enables you to evaluate how proficiently your users can perform tasks without assistance by removing all Guidance content, such as Smart Tips and Flows, from the training Simulation. This creates an evaluation environment where your users can complete the same tasks independently, without on-screen guidance.

For example, use an Assessment to evaluate how new employees complete onboarding Workflows before advancing to live systems.

Assessments function as fully interactive, real-time experiences that replicate actual application workflows. Mirror supports sharing Assessments through dedicated links or integrating them into a Learning Management System (LMS) using a SCORM package.

You do not have to maintain or configure tracking of Assessment performance. Mirror automatically tracks Assessment performance, capturing metrics such as the completion rate and the number of users who attempted, passed, or failed the Assessment, and displays the results for each Assessment in the Mirror Analytics dashboard.

Customize the Assessment Experience

Customize the Assessment experience to align it with your training goals. You can define the Pass criteria, add instructional messages, and control how users navigate through Workflows based on how you want to evaluate user performance. Use the following options to customize the Assessment experience for your users:

• Pass Criteria: Define how many Workflows users must complete to pass the Assessment. This can either include completing all Workflows to achieve full completion or specifying a minimum number of Workflows to measure proficiency.

• Start and End Screen Pop-ups: Add contextual Pop-ups at the beginning and end of an Assessment to display custom instructions and completion messages when users finish the Assessment.

• Playground Mode: Choose whether to enable Playground Mode for flexible navigation across Workflows or disable it to maintain a fixed, linear path in the Assessment. For more information, see Understand Playground Mode.

For example, you can create an onboarding Assessment with multiple training Workflows and set a pass criterion such as completing four out of five Workflows to ensure that only users who meet the required proficiency complete the training program.
